Birthday and Anniversary for Big
Due to finals, I have been late in preparing anything for this time of the year so apologies to anyone expecting something new in time for Big’s birthday and the anniversary of his death next week (Dec 9, 2008).
Here is a happy belated birthday wish to Big who would have turned 26 this year.

Beam - The Album

Ohhhhh man, here we go with Beam’s solo album.
I LOVE THIS CD.
Seriously, it’s such a chill album, so nice and smooth and easy listen pop with just a hint of jazz~ It’s awesome. It makes me want to spend the whole day at the beach. It’s the perfect soundtrack for a day on the coast, from upbeat, fun, flirty tracks for swimming and playing volleyball and such, to soothing, sweet slower numbers great for kicking it and relaxing to. Not to mention it’s Beam.
Ohhhhh man, my Beamers. While I may not completely OBSESS over him anymore like I did a couple years ago, he’s still got such a strong soft spot in my heart. I grew up listening to his voice from the very beginning of D2B, and I still love it, even if he might not be the best singer out there, it’s perfect to me. Each time I listen to him, he still makes me all giddy and excited and jumbled up inside. And his lyrics…Beam always gets the cutest songs!! Even in the D2B and Dan-Beam days, his lyrics continue to make me bite my knuckles and squeal “AWWWWWWWWWE!!” so high pitched any dogs in the area probably go deaf.
That’s love right there~
Anyway, we’ve already mentioned about his first two singles, “Faen Krai Mai Roo” and “Yah Perng Bork Wah Ruk,” so diving into the rest of the album, here are a couple of my very favorites~ 
The first one is track six, “ระหว่างรอสาย / Rawahng Ror Sai (While Waiting For Later).” Such a nice little number, I love it mainly for the lyrics, pretty similar to my situation right now. I love the feel of it too, it like…makes me want to kick back on one of those beach chairs and sip a margarita or some sort of tropical drink with that special someone and watch the sunset.

This is the one I can go skipping along the shore to in the sun with the seagulls cawing. And the lyrics, again, are too cuuuute. The only thing I gotta say is Beam, don’t ever do that gangster hand gestures again that you did during the end rap in the karaoke video ahahaha~

Why can’t I find a guy like that? And the karaoke video is super cute too. Beam bakes! AND draws! I wonder if he draws that picture in the video himself. But yeahhh, another song that reminds me of me, as whenever I want to do a little something special for someone or get their attention, I’ll usually draw them

If I had time to go on about all the other tracks, I would. I’ll probably come back and translate the rest eventually, cause they’re all awesome awesome tracks, especially the last one, which promotes environmentalism and saving our world, as Beam was chosen to endorse the World Wildlife Federation.
If you can, I’d also recommend grabbing yourself a copy of the karaoke VCD as well. RS Promotion has really stepped it up with their karaoke. Like…Yeah, they’re karaoke videos, I don’t expect each one to be carefully handcrafted and meticulously planned out with a big budget, but at least have some variety, and at least have the artists in a scene or situation that at least remotely goes with the lyrics! So RS definitely has Grammy beat on that one.
Love all the videos, love all the songs, love love love Beam… The only thing I have to complain about this album is the cover. The graphic designer in me is coming out again haha… The inside of the insert looks great, it’s totally fine and dandy, but…come on! Who chose that picture for the cover?? Honestly?? u_U
Haha, but, other than that, it’s a perfect album. Way to go, Beam!

Don’t Just Tell Beam You Love Him
If you haven’t seen it already, the music video for Beam Kawee’s second single, “อย่าเพิ่งบอกว่ารัก / Yah Perng Bork Wah Ruk / Don’t Just Tell Me You Love Me,” is out already~
I must be honest, the very first single time I heard this song, I didn’t like it and really preferred his first single, “Faen Krai Mai Roo“. But, Beam’s been my number one dara love for how many years now? And I felt I had to stay loyal to him, so I gave it another chance, and, after really listening to the lyrics and having it on repeat for a while, I really really love it now. I’m not sure what was wrong with me before haha, I think I even prefer it to his first single. It’s so calming and sweet with a pretty melody that gets stuck in your head easily.
So, obviously, I was excitedly awaiting the release of this MV. And…let’s see…can I do it? Can I make it? Can I?
…………………………………..Nope, I can’t.
BEAM WITH GLASSES OMG. I admit I have SUCH a glasses fetish, and Beam walking out in the beginning with those lenses on was mind blowing. I remember why I fell in love with him way back when ahahaha. He’s gotten better with age. Yum. But enough of my chitter chatter and fangirling, check it out!!!

The MV is pretty straight on with the lyrics and self-explanatory, I think it works well. Beam is looking as studly as ever, though that black button up shirt buttoned all the way with the white tie look reminds me a little too much of M Auttapon, but forgivable. The ending also makes me squeal “AWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwe” loud enough to make my roommate look at me strange. All in all, cuuuute video.

If you’re a D2B or Dan-Beam fan and miss one of Thailand’s former superstars, you’re not alone. He is still remembered for his early days as part of the boy band D2B, with the late Apichet “Big” Kittikorncharoen and Worawet “Dan” Danuwong, with whom he later formed the pop duo Dan-Beam, who only called it quits last year, after releasing three albums.
Currently studying for an MBA at Chulalongkorn University, the pop idol hasn’t stopped building his fanbase. In his latest comedy, Sading Lamsing Sai Na, which hit cinemas last year, Beam starred as a taxi driver, appearing alongside Northeastern folk group Ponglang Sa-On. As always, the movie was a smash across the nation.
But his latest role shows that he is more than just a pretty face. Along with many big names including Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and former Indian Prime Minister Inthira Gandhi, he has been chosen to be a WWF Ambassador, to work on raising awareness of environmental issues in Thailand.

… what you have done so far as a WWF Ambassador?
There was a big campaign named “Earth Hour” that was about energy saving. On that day [March 29], Bangkokians were asked to turn off their lights for one hour, and it turned out to be really great. Apart from that, I’ve been to visit many WWF nature conserves. The first one I went to was Bang Pu. The conserve is not only for saving forest areas, but it also has activities that allow young people to explore nature and study the ecosystem … its flora and fauna - mudskippers, birds and mangrove trees.
… if you feel pressure from being made a WWF Ambassador?
Pressure? No. I feel more honoured. It is an honour not only for me, but for my company as well. The moment I realised I was chosen, I intended to do the best I could. And of course, I would not try to compare my work with that of others. What really matters is what I can do myself.
… what you would do to help address environmental issues in Thailand?
As an ambassador, my main job is to publicise the campaigns. All the policy planning part is still too far from where I stand. But in case I go to places like Bang Pu, and I have some ideas, I can still mention them to the staff or locals - “Hey, why don’t you do that?” or “Why don’t you do this?” That is basically what I can do. Like with the elephants in the city issue, personally, I think the problem must be solved promptly. What I can do is to make people aware of the issues and to tell those who are responsible, like the government, to impose a policy or law regarding it.
… how it feels living in both the showbiz world and activists’ world?
At first, I thought they were going totally different ways, but I learned that people can live with nature and I can be someone who tell others about that. Everybody has their own duty to save nature. I’m a well-known person. I can use my fame to help inform the press, and help see the problems like I do. So yeah, I think both roles can exist together, especially when it comes to environmental issues. It’s not all about deforestation any more. We’re now facing the overuse of natural resources. This is simply everyone’s problem, whatever you do and wherever you are.
… what you miss most being a part of D2B and Dan-Beam?
I never regret or feel bad about being part of Dan-Beam or D2B. I feel that I have gained friendships and good feelings. Professionally, I miss the days when we worked together and they are like the best companions ever in my working life - both Big and Dan.
… about the most exciting part of your new album?
Probably the new tracks! They’ll sound a lot like what I love to listen right now, like when we [Dan-Beam] were head over heels with catchy and upbeat tunes. Same here. It just boils down to what I want the fans to listen to the most. Will there be anything new? Oh yes, there will be new songs. You know, it’d really sound cheesy to say “it [the album] is so me”. I don’t think so, because “me” changes all the time. Therefore, I’ll stick to pop, as always.

Beam’s Lonely Without Dan
This is the first time Beam Kawee Tanjararak has to work on a solo album and lets see if he has what it takes to make it.”Right now i’m working on my solo album and the style of music is like easy listening and its the style that i like to listen to and want to sing.
Are you excite to work on you solo album?
well it is my very first solo album and i do want it to be a good album so you can say that i;m very involved in every aspect of this album.
Are you lonely with working on this album without Dan with you?
Yeah its really lonely and i can tell that it’s going to be more tiring too. Did you ask Dan for any advice on this album? i havent spoken to Dan in the longest time, but with my new solo album i’ve talked to Dan about from time to time. But the majority of the new album has to come from me and what i want people to see the true me.
Is there a chance for the both of you to work together again?
This one might be a long time before that happens
What about lakorns?
I want to play in a lakorn, i like playing in lakorns but no one has offered me any roles (laughing).But could it also be because the production company Red Drama closed down already? Well has any other production companies?Honestly, RS always gives us the opprotunity to work with other companies and i’ve never worked with another production company before either but i would want to try it out
